Coach the root cause, not just the symptom

"The most powerful thing you can offer a client isn't a protocol — it's the ability to find the pattern no one else has been trained to see."
— Anthony Osagie, PhD, DFM, FMACP, FWACS

Alignara Functional Wellness Coach is one of two professional programmes offered under Alignara Health College — the institution I founded to bring rigorous, evidence-informed functional health education to practitioners who are ready to work at the highest level. The other programme is Alignara Functional Orthopedics. Together, they form the clinical and coaching pillars of what I believe functional health practice looks like at its best.
If you're reading this, I'm willing to bet you got into health and wellness because you genuinely wanted to change people's lives. And I'm also willing to bet that somewhere along the way, you hit a wall.
Maybe your clients follow the plan perfectly — and still feel exhausted. Maybe you keep recommending the same general nutrition advice and wondering why it works brilliantly for one person and not at all for the next. Maybe you've started to sense that the missing piece isn't motivation, and it isn't willpower — it's a deeper understanding of what's actually driving your client's symptoms in the first place.
That's exactly where functional health coaching comes in. And it's exactly what this school was built to give you.
I created this curriculum because I believe that the practitioners who can bridge the gap between clinical science and compassionate, human-centered coaching are going to be the most sought-after, most impactful professionals in the wellness space. That means understanding how gut health connects to mood and energy. It means knowing how to read a DUTCH hormone panel or a GI Map and translate it into something your client can act on. It means conducting a health-history timeline interview that surfaces the pattern no one else has ever connected for your client — and watching their eyes light up when it finally makes sense. This school teaches you all of that, in a way that respects your intelligence without burying you in jargon.
But I also want to be honest with you: knowing the science is only half the job. The other half is the human work — helping a burned-out client actually change their habits, holding space for ambivalence without losing momentum, and knowing when to encourage versus when to refer. That's why behaviour change coaching gets its own deep treatment here, built around motivational interviewing and real-world strategies that work in actual client sessions, not just in textbooks.
And when you're ready to build the practice itself — define your niche, design your signature programmes, get your legal foundations in place, and start attracting the clients you're meant to serve — that's all here too.
You don't need to choose between being rigorous and being warm. You don't need to choose between being science-informed and being relatable. This school is built on the belief that you can be both — and that when you are, you become the practitioner your clients have been looking for. I'd love to help you get there. Come join us.
